More about ADRIà JULIà

Adrià Julià has a multidisciplinary practice encompassing film installations, performance, sculpture, photography and printed material. His extensive projects examine the means of representation and reception of events of personal and collective historical dimensions, and the ways in which they function as documents of physical and psychological experiences. His elaborate installations are the result of investigating regulated and mediated behaviours, readapted and re-contextualized through performance – sometimes irrational, uncommon or even antisocial – and simultaneously evoke theatricality and truthfulness.

Adrià Julià (1974, Spain) lives and works in Maastricht and Los Angeles. He is currently an art researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. Solo exhibitions include Notes on the Missing Oh,Project Art Centre, Dublin, Ireland (2011); Indications for Another Place, Museo Tamayo, Mexico DF, Mexico (2010) and Ruins of Speech, Galeria Soledad Lorenzo, Madrid, Spain (2010); A Means of Passing the Time,  LA>Adrià Julià, Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, USA (2006); La Villa Basque, Vernon, California, Artists Space, New York, USA (2005).
